FOR THE LOVE OF COUNTRY
I received an email about the subject and I totally agree. It made me think about on what is lost in today's society. The values, marriage & family, chivalry, principle and the love of your country. Having come from another country when I was just 25 months old I can only tell you that my heart belongs here in the USA. I believe I am a US Patriot and have gone overseas with the Air Force after 9/11 and the 2nd Gulf War
I celebrate all the important holidays and a portion of my family still serves the country in the armed forces. Why am I telling you this? Because I think a big portion of our society needs to be reminded of the privilege it is to live in FREEDOM and how lucky we are to live in this great nation of ours that we only remember as great when tragedy hits, like 9/11. Wow, did we love our country then or what?
There was one, sometimes two American flags for each car on the road. I believe we need to start somewhere, and I will begin today with Patriotism. Teach your children to love their country, it does not matter which one they love, but they must love and respect what it stands for. This is a way to re-introduce our children to ethics, principle, virtue and the real significance for being a good citizen. For those of you living in the USA right now, I say grasp your beliefs, think globally but act locally. In the future this could have a great impact on the choices our children make for us when we are to old, tired or sick to fight for our own motherlands.
VA Loans
VA guaranteed loans are made by lenders and guaranteed by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) to eligible veterans for the purchase of a home. The guaranty means the lender is protected against loss if you fail to repay the loan. In most cases, no down payment is required on a VA guaranteed loan and the borrower usually receives a lower interest rate than is ordinarily available with other loans.
Other benefits of a VA loan include:
- Negotiable interest rate.
- Closing costs comparable – and sometimes lower - than other financing types.
- No private mortgage insurance requirement.
- Right to prepay loan without penalties
- Mortgage can be taken over (or “assumed”) by the buyer when a home is sold.
- Counseling and assistance available to veteran borrowers having financial difficulty or facing default on their loan.
Although mortgage insurance is not required, the VA charges a funding fee to issue a guarantee to a lender against borrower default on a mortgage. The fee may be paid in cash by the buyer or seller, or it may be financed in the loan amount.
A VA loan can be used to buy a home, build a home and even improve a home with energy-saving features such as solar or heating/cooling systems, water heaters, insulation, weather-stripping/ caulking, storm windows/doors or other energy efficient improvements approved by the lender and VA.
Veterans can apply for a VA loan with any mortgage lender that participates in the VA home loan program. A Certificate of Eligibility from the VA must be presented to the lender to qualify for the loan.
